The former President of India and an eminent scientist himself, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam met Dr. VA Shiva Ayyadurai on the occasion of the release of Dr. Shiva’s latest book, The Email Revolution in India by Penguin. Dr. Kalam said he was proud to learn that it was an Indian who invented email, the world’s most popular form of communication today. He said that Dr. Shiva’s story of how he came about to invent email as a 14-year-old immigrant in New Jersey, USA should serve as an inspiration for the thousands of students and young people in India who aspire to be innovators.
