Dr. V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai’s alma-mater, Livingston High School at Livingston, NJ held its Alumni Hall of Fame reception on October 10, 2014. The event was sponsored by the Livingston Education Foundation (LEF) to honor the newest members of the LHS Hall of Fame and Leadership in Educational Achievement and Dedication. (LEAD).
Dr. V.A. Shiva Ayyadurai (Class of 1981) was formally inducted into the Hall of Fame along with Charles R. Bendit (Class of 1971), Larry Fieber (Class of 1968), and Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum (Class of 1986). The LEAD award recipients were Jim Ransegnola and Don Schwartz.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ayyadurai said, “The invention of email was a product of Livingston as well as Newark. There is a myth that big innovations can only come out of a big institution, but it came out of a local ecosystem.”
Dr. Ayyadurai stressed the importance of the right opportunities and the support of mentors, teachers and family. “I was fortunate to have very good teachers at the Livingston schools,” added Dr. Ayyadurai.
